Brief Bio
Carlo Sansone is currently Full Professor of Computer Engineering at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica e Tecnologie dell’Informazione of the University of Naples Federico II. His basic interests cover the areas of image analysis, pattern recognition and machine and deep learning. From an applicative point of view, his main contributions were in the fields of biomedical image analysis, biometrics, intrusion detection in computer networks and image forensics. He coordinated several projects in the areas of artificial intelligence, biomedical images interpretation and network intrusion detection. Prof. Sanson
e is a member of the IEEE and of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR). In 2012 he was elected Vice-President of the GIRPR (the Italian Association affiliated to the IAPR) for two terms (four years).

Emanuele Maiorana received the Ph.D. degree in biomedical, electromagnetism, and telecommunication engineering with European Doctorate Label from Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy, in 2009. He is currently a tenure track Assistant Professor with the Section of Applied Electronics, Department of Industrial, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy. His research interests are in the area of digital signal and image processing, with specific emphasis on biometric recognition. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security since 2020. He is the r
ecipient of the Lockheed Martin Best Paper Award for the Poster Track at the IEEE Biometric Symposium 2007, the Honeywell Student Best Paper Award at the IEEE Biometrics: Theory, Applications and Systems conference 2008, and the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Pattern Recognition Applications and Methods (ICPRAM). He was the General Chair of the IEEE International Workshop on Biometrics and Forensics (IWBF) 2021, and he is the General Chair of the IEEE International Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS) 2024.
